Going through a staffing agency can be the smartest move you make during your career search. Here are some common misconceptions about staffing agencies that may be preventing you from applying:

Myth #1: Staffing agencies only do temporary jobs. I want a “real job”—something permanent.

Reality: This is false. While Emerald Staffing does offer many temporary positions, the majority of what we do is temp-to-hire, contract, and direct hire. And many of our temporary jobs turn into something long-lasting and permanent. The jobs that are offered through our agency are completely bona fide. We work with companies big and small that have a lot to offer. And seriously, our clients are AWESOME.

Myth #2: Staffing agencies charge a fee. I don’t want to pay money to get a job.

Reality: Nope. That would be lame. Our services are completely free of charge to anyone and everyone seeking employment though us. IE- when it comes time for promotion- I have been with Emerald for nearly 30 years and my advice has held true throughout my career- – Don’t chase the money or the “title”- do what you like, work with people you enjoy-  and the rest will follow.- A “foot”  in the door is the first step – the rest will naturally follow.  Hang in there!

That’s where it gets confusing; how is a college grad supposed to get the experience if no one will hire someone unless they have experience? I would love to have my foot in the door, but it seems like the door is closed and locked tight.
